Foundational doctrine

Once generation is abundant, acceptance is the constraint.

When AI makes generating code cheap, the scarce, valuable work becomes judging whether a change is correct, safe and worth shipping. Delivery should be optimised — and measured — around acceptance, not output.

Conventional wisdom

AI accelerates delivery by helping teams generate more output.

Our position

Once generation becomes abundant, acceptance becomes the constraint.

Why we believe it

The scarce work is no longer producing change — it is deciding whether a change is correct, safe and worth shipping.

What we’ve observed

  1. 01In agent-heavy delivery, review and verification increasingly dominate cycle time.

The objection

Better models will remove the bottleneck.
Model quality improves generation; acceptance — correctness, safety, shippability — stays the constraint, and the bar rises with regulation.

Challenge the thinking

Agree that acceptance — not generation — is now the binding constraint? Or think we have over-rotated on it? Either way, we would like to hear it; the sharpest conversations start where we disagree.

What does this make you think?
